Here are some pureed recipes that you may enjoy:

Cream of Chicken Soup
1 can low-fat, low sodium cream of chicken soup (Try
Campbell's Healthy Request)
Add 1 can of chicken (drain off liquid)
Mix with 1 can of double milk (see liquid stage for recipe)
Blend on high until pureed.

Salmon-Celery Soup
1 can low-fat, low-sodium cream of celery soup
Add 1 can of salmon (drained and bones removed)
Mix with 1 can of double milk
Blend on high until pureed.

Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup
1 cup low sodium, fat free chicken broth (Try Swanson's)
'/4 pound boneless chicken breast, without skin or fat
1 tablespoon canola oil
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/3 cup skim milk plus 2 tablespoons skim milk powder
I tablespoon nonfat "butter" granules (Molly McButter)
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

In a small saucepan, heat stock, uncovered, over medium-high heat until liquid simmers. Add chicken. When stock begins to simmer again, reduce heat, cover and simmer about 5 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink inside. Remove from heat. Remove chicken from stock and set aside. In a small saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add flour, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Gradually add stock, milk, and butter granules. Stir constantly until mixture thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Pour into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Add cooked chicken, garlic powder and salt. Blend until pureed. Add fresh ground pepper to taste.
Makes about 1 1 /3 cups.
Per 1/3 cup serving: 100 calories, 10 grams protein


Baked Potato Soup
1 cup double milk
1/2 cup prepared mashed potatoes
2 tablespoons fat-free sour cream
1 drop onion juice
Salt and pepper to taste Heat all ingredients in a saucepan. Pour in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Top with a small amount of sharp cheddar cheese if desired.

Bean Soup
3/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup canned pinto beans, drained
1/2 cup canned carrots, drained
1 tablespoon deviled harp (SPAM)
1/2 teaspoon onion juice
Dash of garlic powder Heat all ingredients in a saucepan. Pour in a blender and blend on high until smooth.

Ham and Cheese Soup
1 1/2 cups skim milk
1/4 cup light pimiento cheese spread
1/4 cup SPAM
2 tablespoons light or fat-free mayo
Dash of tobasco Heat in saucepan. Pour in a blender and blend on high until smooth.

High Protein Farina (Cream of Wheat)
Prepare 1/3 cup of cream of wheat with 2 cups of water as directed on package.
Beat together 2/3 cup skim milk powder,'/2 cup water, 1/4 cup egg beaters, and 1 Teaspoon of vanilla.
Stir mixture into cream of wheat while cooking. Return to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1-2 minutes more to cook the egg.
*Try also with instant grits!
